saw one at the local fish store and it was priced at around £4.99 and looked lovely...

| never owned one but i have hear tell of them.
I believe they are so named for their looks, not personality so they should be ok. though i do believe they get quite large | |

| does anyone know how many types of pitbull pleco's there are...
seen a few at a local LFS and the ones they have labelled up as pitbull pleco appear different to the ones on flebay :~{
so what are they supposed to look like and are there various types of them? | |

| In what way do they appear different?
If it's colour the Pitbull Pleco LDA25 (Parotocinclus jumbo) can change colour to blend in with the substrate. If you look at the two pictures on ebay the fish appear to be different colours. There again I've seen other pictures on the web where the head appears flatter and longer.
There are about 20+ Parotoncinclus I'd imagine that many share characteristics and like Bristlenoses can appear similar unless you know what your looking for. | |
