| hey, just thought i'd share what i deck my tanks out with. i usually go with what looks really nice to look at. and my peppermints don't complain as i always see them eating away at them! i don't buy online as it's easier for me to get them at my LFS. on my driftwoods there are a few different anubias - afzelli, barteri, lorraine. which are quite hardy plants and if the leaves get eaten and they still have roots the leaves will always grow back i use different vallis as well tall and short. i like this as it gives a nice lake look. i use java fern as it is hardy (bitter in taste for fish) and it's a nice small bunch that can easily fill an empty space. one of my favourites is dragon flame under aquarium lights it looks great as it has purple and green colours so it adds something a little different. same with purple waffle but that doesn't seem to last as long for me. i might mix it up sometimes trying new things, but i tend to stay with thick leaved plants. that's pretty much what i like to use and again, it's only because i like the look of it. not entirely sure what's the best for catfish. | |

| I buy plant online sometimes, and have no dramas in Oz....I think Java fern is the best for Bns n plecs...also some water sprite on the surface dulls the light, They like the low light.. Some Anubias on wood is good too... | |

| hi, darren. i have bought plants off ebay a couple of times now. the listing i use is. 25 live aquarium plants item number 220593421120 called last-trading-post@hotmail.co.uk £5.99 inc postage you won`t get 25 plants, but you will get 25 good cuttings, it`s a mixture of cuttings, and plants with bulbs attatched. read the listing carefully to fully understand it. they used to be £4.99 but have just gone up in price. but i think are still worth the price compared with my local shop. i have just ordered my 3rd batch. have a look and see what you think. if you cant find them get back to me and i will have another try for you. good luck, john. p.s. if you ask them nicely they will send you the plants that you ask for.

| For the UK I can't recommend Plants Alive highly enough.

There is another large retailer who james is similar to a certain type of script that runs on webpages but they were useless at getting me a correct order in a timely fashion. | |
