| Hi All I have never had this trouble before but I think my other fish are eating my baby bristlenoses My question is.. Can i remove the cave into another tank when the eggs are hatched and the dad is guarding them, before they venture out of the cave? Or will that cause too much stress for them | |

| just had the same problem myself after my bumblebee catfish were caught having my ancistrus for gourmet lunch...
I have made myself a small fry tank to float in the top of the same aquarium and now the baby fry have been removed from the main tank to a small fry holding tank until they are 2-3 months old...
that may sound like a little longer than normal, but just purely protecting the fry from being eaten by my two bumblebee cat fish right now.
good luck...

| Hi What we do, is after the eggs have hatched, but before they leave the cave, we remove the cave with dad inside to a separate tank. That way, when needed, the dad can easily be removed back to the breeding tank, leaving the fry in a grow on tank. Again, this is easier than trying to catch the fry and moving them at a later stage Hope that helps. Angi | |

| best option is a fry saver, will keep the fry safe but not let the other fish get to them | |
