| Michael I have only ever seen the L173 once and that was a friend who used to import them from Germany, def similar to the L046 however where as the Zebra is black and white and the stripes are horizontal, the L173 is black and white and the stripes are like zigzags /flashes.
You will find one of the most reputable breeders of L173 here-
http://www.l173.de/
and the gallery...
http://www.l173.de/galerie.html
also found this..
http://www.thetropicaltank.co.uk/Fishindx/hypa-zeb.htm
which kind of already contradicts what I know and was going to type so i AM GOING TO SIT ON THE FENCE ON THIS FOR NOW..
I have seen what others have termed to be Royal Zebra Pleco, Chocolate Zebra Pleco, Rio Xingu Pleco, Zebra Scribble Pleco (L173) / L173, L046 and L098 all I can say is i HAVE SEEN l046 AT £45 EACH which was cheap, and I have seen Chocolate Zebra at £29.99....
I have also seen L173 at £22 and £35 though they are said to be Japan imports and hardly ever seen, I would recommend getting pictures first and sending them me, or posting them on here...
For people that may be ineterested, some good info on Zebra pLeco can be found here..
http://www.plecoclub.org/forum/showthread.php?s=eaecfbd6534ff0d2172b8ecee6c76958&t=1003&page=2
and here....
http://www.zebrapleco.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4534
I personally would not offer more than £30 each, and that depends on how keen you want them....lol, are they sexable, how mature are they etc..
Michael... good luck..

| I did forget to include this Michael... http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=473 You will see a slight similarity to the Zebra, but a difference can be seen non the less.. if you need more thought then.. http://www.planetcatfish.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=30916&p=200600 I am really going to put the cat among the pigeons now, so do not shoot the messenger... This is what a fellow trader is seling them for - Ross is very reliable too http://www.aquarist-classifieds.co.uk/php/detail62_195642.php L173 can be found to be double the price of L046 in most places, guess you should take your bullion bar with you when you go back for them... if you get a good deal don't hesitate to text me...lol... Lj
