| Well, hopefully...
How soon can you tell if a baby is albino or red? | |

| Well I'm embarrassed. On the day the eggs were laid the female red was hanging round with my male brown and I assumed they were her eggs but I couldn't stay to watch till the end. They don't now look like they have black eyes to me. I'll put some photos on. I think the albino female must have snuck in instead. I'm really disappointed. My two reds The babies The big one at the back of the tank with the babies is one I kept from my first spawn as 'he' is unrelated to any other I've got. Do you think the red spot he has behind his head means he is a male? He's about 4cms long. | |

| ah OK and also, the BN you think is male in the picture, as you said it is about 4 cm long he should be getting bristles by now, mine started getting bristles at around that size. i think the red spot is because he is stressed although i am not sure, i saw this on one of my females when i collected her and it soon went away when she calmed down, was he moved at all before you took the picture? either that or it is just something that some BNs have, i have seen it on albino and L144 as well. | |

| I don't think he's stressed he's been in that tank for 3 months now and quite used to me fiddling around. There's no sign of bristles but males do develope a similar spot so I just wondered if this was an indication. | |
