i generally give my 3 plecs around 4 wafers every 3-4 days or so, i break them up but that is because it makes it harder for my featherfin catfish to find them, if he does, bye bye to any chance of food! lol!

they are also given bloodworms and flake, i have a community tank and so my plecos feed off anything that drops to the bottom of the tank, they will also feed off algae in the tank, my male BN is doing a great job Very Happy

From my experience of tropical fish, fish that would normally feed off floating stuff like flake rarely try to eat algae wafers, this would probably apply to goldfish aswell. it also depends on how many plecos you have in the tank, as they are the main consumers of wafers, you need to be sure that they will eat all the food but be given enough. if given too much, they probably won't eat all the food and it may not be good for water quality, they can't really be given too little because they feed off algae in the tank.

Hope this helps Very Happy

James

Goldfish are bottom feeders too mine go after algae wafers so I try and drop them in places where the BNs only have access- behind bogwood etc. I also feed some flake at the same time to distract them.
