| i have an undergravel filter and its a pain to clean so should i remove it and go for a normal filter | |

| If you find it to be a pain, swap it out. The hobby should be enjoyable and I see no reason to keep anything that aggravates you. | |

i agree 100% i bought a tank with an undergravel filter and removed it before i set it up, Although some poeple like to use them....ive never used one so i cant give advice but im sure someone will.. | |

| Personally I don't like Under Gravel Filters. Never could get on with them. Much prefer internal/external filters and a thin layer of gravel for aesthetic purposes | |

| I'd get rid of it, I picked up a second hand tank with an undergravel filter a few months ago but scrapped it after a few weeks and got an internal. | |
