| I want to make something similar to this but I could not find anything on the web except to buy them so I thought someone here knows how are they built. I was going to make them from tiles and will use silicone. What size should I use? Is 15cm Lenght, 3.5cm Width and 2.5cm Height good for their breeding cave? | |

| its pretty basic. Grab some slate tiles. Make sure they are not sealed in any way. then use an angle grinder to cut them up.
Make sure you use aquarium safe silicon as the normal stuff leaches toxic chemicals into the water and will kill the fish. What are you planning to breed in them? The size you mention is perfect for commons or some of the slightly larger species. I add a bit more width for longfins. | |
