| hi has anyone ever used half ro and half tap water in there bristlenose set ups im thinking of giving it a go to lower the tds as our water is quite high in the tds stakes about 300 by doing this i guess i can get the tds to 100 or lower .thanks. and possibly ajust my ph slightly from 7.6 to maybe 7 or lower:any opinions on this topic would be gratefully appreciated.thanks D | |

| i use a 5 parts RO: 1 part HMA water. HMA is the waste water from the RO unit.
gives me pH of 6.7 and low but good TDS | |

| doug thanks for that is the hma the waste water from any ro unit i have a 50 gallon ro unit with tapwater in, a waste pipe, and a good water out let where the ro comes out, is it always hma water that comes out of all ro units waste pipe or not? | |
