This second one was supposed to be female as when bought 2 weeks ago had no bristles apart from very small growths on the lower lip

Clearer pictures would have helped, but I do know it's not that easy.
First two pictures look like a common female (Ancistrus cf. Cirrhosus).
The second two of the male are harder to tell, it could be a common. If there is a dark spot at the base of the first dorsal ray then it probably is a common, sadly I can not see the dorsal clearly enough on the two pictures.

Cheers I will try to get some clearer pics but I'm having to use the mobile to take them as the camera ones are even worse quality.

I would have a go at saying they are a common pair but yes it is hard to be sure without clear pics
