| So I've only got 2 Plecos (at the minute :P ) and here they are... They're quite shy which is also why I took that one picture whilst he was still in the bag! Oh and a quick note, I don't have smarties as the substrate anymore it's sand ftw | |

| L129's tend to lose some of their shyness when in a group rather than just the odd one or two. That's always my excuse to buy some more | |

That's always my excuse to buy some more Hindsight is a great thing, wish I'd got maybe a couple more at the time. They've got none left now  Hence the need for some L325 - kfenk wrote:

Thank you . That's mental, why are they so much over your end? I mean these were £22 for the pair, I think I got fairly cheap.

| In aus adult L129 can reach about $200-250 a fish, where a proven m/f pair that havnt bred maybe $600. Proven breeding pair that's produced fry maybe $800-1000. These prices purely come down to the fact that these fish simply are hard to get. Our import restrictions don't allow for most Ls to be imported so we are pretty much stuck with what's already here or what can get smuggled in The fish I want the most in L200 are about $700 each at 3-4cm. Not a fish I could have any time soon And everyones favourite L046 zebra pleco for 3cm juvies $750-1000... Each! | |

| No way! That's unreal, I thought I had it bad having to pay £43 for some L325 Jari Blue Ancistrus because I dunno where else to get them haha.
I can't believe how much they are, don't realise how lucky we are in the UK!

| Australia is very strict on keeping it's waterways introduced species free now. So importing certain species isn't possible any more. Unfortunately nearly all the plecos fall under that category Like I said before, we only have what's left of the fish that were imported before the import restrictions, the offspring of those fish and whatever is able to be smuggled in. Safe to say that a our bristlenoses are inbred beyond belief But we still love em It's great that the import restriction is set as to protect our precious waterways. Especially after all the destruction the European Carp and Gambusia (both released by the government mind you) have caused. Still we hobbyists are also to blame. It's the careless and the misinformed that have released livebearers (swordtails, mollies, guppies) bettas, cichlids (convicts, midus, geophagus, oscars etc) and the common goldfish into rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. We responsible hobbyist just have to bear with it and pay the price for what we want. In the end if we got our way and got licenses put in place to import and keep the fish we want, I'm sure the price will still be quite hefty... Haha I rambled on too much | |

| Haha that part made me laugh "Safe to say that a our bristlenoses are inbred beyond belief But we still love em". Agh can't believe how harsh they are on the importing business! It's usually the way though, the few spoil it for the many. Hopefully in the future things might change? Hopefully they do, those prices are ridiculous | |

| Very nice fish you have You do have it lucky mate, most plecs we get here are ridiculously expensive, and very few people breed the more dazzling ones. If only there wasn't restrictions...*sigh* If that ban does get lifted, I'm gonna buy every damn species I can until they start coming out of my ears lol :P | |
