| No it's not about who owns what picture or who has permission to post what where etc I just wondered why people post pictures of plec's when they are holding them in their hand's ? It seems to be the norm on e bay and some other websites.I wondered why the don't flip out and try and wriggle away , plec's are not the easiest things to catch and they flip like mad when I get my net out.Do they go into a trance like state when this giant human hand plucks them from the comfort of the water ? | |

| In all honesty it disgusts me how people take pics like this. Pics of fish in water better shows natural colour and shape. Handling fish out of water should be left to the fisherman and the fish markets | |

| I think they do it for perspective. Comparison for hand to plec. BNs don't display well this way because their bristles are soft and collapse. carol | |

| I think rulers are best suited for showing plec sizes. | |

| Apart from the main concern that it must stress them out severely they do show up their markings as really dull. | |

| I will NEVER remove a plec to take a pic....causes to much distress.... Although if im selling them i will use my hand to catch a bristlenose instead of using a net.... ive found netting BN's causes way to much stress..plus there is a special carefull way to catch by hand with minimum stress... | |

Curby pictures and instructions on the correct way to catch BN would be very helpful for new BN owners. I do catch bn by hand and have used clear pitchers and colanders to catch my bigger plecos Carol

| I can see the pic Carol :P
I too think it wrong to handle plecs like those people do. I try to avoid any stress to mine with very brief netting times. I would use my hand to gently catch them instead of the net but I'm always too afraid I might damage them or they might flick themselves away and fall onto something.
I have seen some pics where people handle a lot of the fresh wild caught by their head. This looks incredibly stessing to the fish. Does it hurt them though? Anyone know? Looks wrong to handle them like that.
