| i went to the lfs and they dont know what they are on about saw a pleco that i fell in love with so asked them all about it and they said this one is a dwarf leopard spot pleco and they get no bigger than 6-7 inches just checked it and its a gibbicep thats can get big but cant complain to much only cost me £3.50 | |

| That's the problem with some LFS, they just have no idea. Onthe other hand it can be a good thing. I picked up a beautiful marble bn cheap coz they were being sold as albino | |

| i really love the colours on it i might go a get one more but can you tell the sex of these ones at 1.5 inchs i think i have a female but not sure no real visible signs of sexing yet just looks like a female with the slanting nose | |

| Very hard to tell with plecos as they mature at a later age than bns. Wait until yours gets to around 10cm. A good way to tell with them is males get longer hairs on the end of their pectoral fins. Have a look my first pic in the comp I last entered here. I think my gibbiceps albino is a female. She's about 12cm or so. Notice her pectoral fins as opposed to the L168 next to her. His are a lot more hairier. Hope that helps :P | |
