a Q on fanning

Hi guys, i have a question for you guys,

when a male is fanning an egg is this always done with the caudal fin or has it been known to be done with the pelvic fins....?

my male has been in his cave face first for days now, usually he is either tail out or face out and switches it around a few times a day,

but he hasn't left the cave and is face first in, his pelvic fins are flapping constantly with occasional caudal fin flapping,

i cannot see inside the cave because of the angle its on and don't want to disturb him just in-case....

any thoughts guys.....

he can but i find that its more obvious with the pelvic fins for display.
