Bloody pepps Empty
PostSubject: Bloody pepps   Bloody pepps EmptySun Nov 06, 2011 1:44 am

Hi guys my peppermint bns don't seem interested in breeding. The males are in the caves but they are not fanning. They just lay there with their body hanging out. I thought they would be fanning away to attract the females? All the caves have wood over the top of the entrance. Water is perfect I've done water changes every day this week we even had storms. I'm gonig to leave the tank for a week and let it stink up a bit then hope for a storm and start doing water changes. Should I be worried that the males aren't fanning? All bns are just over 2. Yrs old and bout 5 inches long

would not worrie to much, they don't really fan until they are on eggs, i know mine sit in the cave with face out for a few weeks until the female is ready, then bounce back and forward inside the cave and lay across the front.....

don't water change every day......i find it disturbes them a bit too much myself....try 3 times a week max....

also something to try that worked for me...a cool water change and feed them some brine shrimp....work on my last lot Smile

all the best

Dave

I woulnt worry about it, they will breed in time. Forgetting about them seems to work the best for everyone Smile

Thx for info. I'm planning on leaving them alone this week. I've also thought bout selling them and getting cichlids.
