| HI,
I have mainly discus fish spread around 4 tanks but then bought a L144 Lemon Bristlenose for a cleaner few month back. Absolutely love him so recently bought 5 young super reds, haven't a clue what or if there is a number for them but like the lemon seem to cope well with the high temps that I keep the discus at. I do give them what is recommended for a bristlenose diet but am finding that the lemon now he is bigger will chase the discus off to munch on mussels! I intend in the next couple of weeks to buy some more Lemons so one day I might be able to breed them.

| Hi Paula and wlcome to Bristlenoseworld It's amazing how so many people buy them to do a job and then just fall in love with them The Reds are just a colour morph and have no L number and the Lemons although known as L144 are not true L144's and are also a colour morph. I hope you get some more Lemons and have great success breeding them | |

| Hi jim.and Thanks for the information about what they are. I have just read a post you put on I think feeding L132 about garlic being good for bristlenoses. I have noticed they are out like vultures when the discus break up the beefheart, it contains garlic which the discus try to avoid that must be what they are all after. | |

| Hi kfenk,
Good luck with the discus. My baby reds are in a 180 litre tank with a breeding pair and they still get on fine .
I can't get a picture of the reds but did get this off the lemon. The flash has made him look paler and zooming in makes him look bigger.
Hope it works, not sure if I have done it properly.

| Hey and welcome to bristlenose world.
fi you find that the bristlenose are getting a bit bloated then what i used to do is to feed the bristlenose first with a good bit of cucumber, let them have their fill for about an hour, then feed the discus. the bristlenose will be full from the cucumber and while they might have a quick nibble they wont get too much.
Good to have you here and see you out on the threads!

| Evening Doug,
I do give them cucumber and courgette but the person I got the lemon off told me to only give them this once a week. I checked out the list on here and did try the cauli stalk even blanched they were not impressed. The 5 baby reds, tank they are in has a lot of algae so they spend all there time up the glass. Will try feeding them before the discus, they take a while to wake up in the mornings anyway. Thanks.
lol like the bristlenose world pic of the bristlenose with the santa hat on!!!!
