Thank you so much Jim.and for all your help If this actually works, I'll be updating my photos very soon as you can see it is only half full at the moment, I'm gradually filling it and will post another photo when it's full. This is basically a product of all you lovely people with your spot on advice, thank you so much

| Sure will if I can remember what I did! It's nearly full now and a little less yellow now that the tannins from the wood are clearing. I was about to set up another filter an Eheim 2215 in the tank that I'd bought from eBay today but when I unwrapped it, the canister was all smashed :| Decor needs a good sort out too and I'd like to make some sort of slate feature with aquarium silicone, but I've heard the silicone doesn't last? Lots more to do to make it a perfect home but that's half the fun I reckon | |

| Hi Ziggee, yes If I'm lucky enough to win your Longfin's, this will be their new home Hi mmacannon, I'd like to keep a few different types of rainbow fish, I have a few threadfins and forktails but I'd like bigger shoals. What do you have? | |

| Wow! I wasn't expecting that!! That's some collection, if that's the right word. I was looking at Rice fish the other day and the spotted blue eyes looked beautiful when I stumbled across them on the Internet. 23 tanks too, wow, I'm very envious | |

| I can only give a written update I'm afraid, my computer has died and I can't seem to post pictures using my phone. Anyway I brought home three little baby LFBN's for my tank today, very exciting I've filled it up now and moved the 'decor' around a bit so it's looking a bit better. I'll get pics up as soon as I can. It's so nice to chat/share with people who are as crazy about BN's/fish/tanks as me, no one else I know is...... Can't think why!! | |

| Subject: long fins bn/ my new tank bad times. Wed Dec 21, 2011 4:24 pm | |
| Hi congrats on your long fins for your new tank.
I today have just put half of my adult bristlenose's (2x female brown, 1x female albino, and 1x male brown) in the bin today as yesterday i feed them in my new second hand tank 125litres, which was maturing before i put the fish into it for 8weeks, all fish were alive in it 2weeks ago and getting on well but today i have put all four dead fish in the bin....i feel so gutted for them as they had been in my other tank for most of their life and i thought i would buy them another bigger home......they were the only fish in the 125L.
Very lucky i have four adults (1 x albino male, 1 x albino female, 1 x brown male and 1 x brown female in another tank of 180litres and 5 x calico babies 1 inch in another tank.
Thank god i split them up i am really gutted they get like family members when you watch them grow from such a small size.....all the very best with your LF bristlenose.....i am going to totally empty and refill with water and buy a new stronger filter system in the hope any more i introduce into it survive.

No need to be envious, since you'll soon catch-up with me. Fishkeeping is like chickedpox: you start with one, then tanks soon takes over all your place. Started with one a little over a year ago, and here I am... Not sure where I will live in a few years time. Gradually all space is taken over by my fishes.

| So sorry to hear of your losses bristlenoseblundell, that is gutting like you say, especially when you've seen them grow Have you any idea what caused it? What filter did you have? Not that I know much! When I moved mine to the bigger tank I had a huge nitrite spike but luckily so far all is well, phew! I moved my mature pair of brown's a couple of days ago into another tank and they look really sad. I separated them because the two mature males i have seemed to be scrapping a bit and my female looked gravid and I have loaches in the main tan too. The male that I've left in main tank looks like he's pining too so I might put them back where they came from. Ooooooo, it's a worry isn't it Hi maccannon If I could I'd fill my place with tanks and fish but I'd have to get a divorce first | |
