Was just reading another post and it was stated Prime may give false readings, when testing water parameters, and I had heard something about this before and I wondered if any one knew if this is true or not?

Seachem Prime merely detoxifies what nitrite or nitrates are present. You will get readings on nitrite and nitrate if it is present, regardless if it is still toxic or not. I recommend changing 15% water daily until your nitrite reads 0. I use x2 dosage on each waterchange and it works for me.
Once your nitrites are 0 then you can ease up on the waterchanges, but nitrates will always be rising so keep doing your maintenance! (regular waterchanges)

Thanks I wasn't to sure how the whole chemical process worked and why people said different things, it makes sense, Happily I do not have a nitrite problem, thank goodness but it is very interesting to me to understand how it works and what the sayings really meant! thanks!
