My new albino male 8)

I've named him Whitewhisker, he is very tiny, smaller than my little finger but has huge bristles!

And here is Roscoe the Rhino (going to Carolan mebbe)... so I can has moar room for bns

So how big is whitewhisker in actual size? sounds interesting a small bn could mature to that stage unless you got a new strain of potential dwarf bn on your hands

He is 5.2 cm from the tip of his bristles to the tip of his tail (just measured him) The pleco log he is chewing on is about 1.25cm long.

Much smaller than the female I am hoping to breed him with ( and i'm not too sure if she is mature enough). Did 20% cold water change to trigger 'em this morning.

He is much smaller than the norm for sure

He does seem unusually small to have such an abundance of bristles, do you know how old he is.
I would have thought given the size of the female she should be mature enough.

Roscoe the Rhino looks a great fish, pity you could not get a pic when he had his dorsal fin fully extended.

Apparently the albino came from a fish farm in the USA, sry don't know how old he is...I'm guessing 7-8 months.

As for Roscoe he has a very impressive dorsal fin(almost 2X the size seen in the pic), but was under the wood, he is quite shy of the light... he also has a semi lyre-tail.

After 10 days in his cave only 2 fry have escaped, and that was a few days ago. He does come out regularly to eat... and instantly I might add. He has also gained some color as well, am hoping it is a good sign.



Still is only 2 1/8" long!

wow, he is up there with the smallest bristlenose i have heard about breeding. smallest was a 2 inch female.

I would keep a hold of him, sounds like a champion bristlenose!

Dad coaxing fry to come out!

How nice,I agree you should keep hold of him,he's a lovely bristlenose and a good dad.Have you got cucumber etc in there for the fry to feed on?

Yup, gave them several choices of what to eat. Just took these pics 5 min ago.

I am curious as to how large the fry will be when grown-up.

Would be nice to keep record of their development.

Sure will definitely keep a record, am home alone with donated camera(not as good as i-phone tho )... they are my pride and joy

So, he's bigger than I thought... but he is a great breeder!
Took this pic today, had him in a clear container... only for a min, hopefully didn't stress him out too much. He really wanted out tho! Wouldn't stay still

He is so not afraid of anything... including the camera!
