| Receieved today, this BN, very badly packaged, what do YOU think. Battered soaking wet box. No indication that live fish are inside! No Polystyrene reinforcement to box.!! Insulation is crumpled up newspaper which is soaking wet due to leaking poly bags. Due to inadequete packaging, and leaking bags, fish was left with just 1.5" of water. he is now in a quarentine tank trying to recover his ordeal, I hope he makes it. This plec has been sent to me by an experienced fish keeper!!!!!!!!! Any thoughts!!!!!

| Not how you want your fish to arrive Was it double bagged It looks like quite a large male and his interopecular spines could very easily puncture a single bag. It may have come from an experienced keeper but is he an experienced poster Always like to see mine arrive in poly boxes they help prevent damage on route and keep any leaks contained. | |

Always like to see mine arrive in poly boxes they help prevent damage on route and keep any leaks contained. Yes double baged Jim, but they were of a thin quality. He is a mature male, about 6". As you can see in one of the photos, the inner bag has collapsed and in the positon it was photographed he was in only 1.5" of water, so you can imagine what it was like when tipped on its side, most of the body would not have been covered.

| Disgusting. What people will do for money. That's all it is! I think you should have named and shamed or at least given the area it came from as this person must be doing it quite often if he is 'experienced'.. For this reason I will never buy or sell a fish through the post. I care enough to go and get it/deliver it or I wont have it. Sorry I'm enraged, rant over. | |

Sorry June, but forums will not permit the revealing of any names in a disspute or otherwise, all I can say he/she comes from the north of England.

| That's why we have PMs If someone is generally worried they could end up buying fish from the wrong person then they do have a right to know. Just share the knowledge privately. No harm done in my books. Tho others mite have a different opinion | |

| Hi,have you been in touch with the seller and shown him/her these photo's? I would if it was me because if no one says anything the seller might not be aware of the problem and will carry on doing it that way. | |

I have been in contact with the seller, but I am unable to discuss the outcome on the forum, I am able to reveal in strictis confidence through a PM if need be.

| If this person is a member here i would like to no a.s.a.p via PM please.... I will not alloy any trades like that through this place... I made this place for the care of bristlenose plecs NOT the mis-use of them or for them to be traded about like an ebay item..... Be warned all who is watching this topic the above pictures is not how to treat our beloved species and if i find anybody selling BN's this way through here i will ban, name and shame and ban there IP address... Iam also friends with a lot of poeple within this industry and i will make sure any body treating fish in this way will NOT do it again...... Im apalled and very annoyed at the above pictures... Thanks for sharing this ziggee, maybe poeple will now understand not NOT to treat a bristlenose plec.... | |

| Thanks guys for all you concerns and support. You will all be glad to know that at this time the BN is making a good recovery, and is munching on some courgette at the moment. I have given Curby some details through a PM, and await his decision. Thanks again. | |

This thread now is now more intriguing than the Gagg orders/Twitter gate scandal with Ryan Giggs.. I know it's serious business but should we rename this thread Plecogate?

| No names shall be announced on bristlenoseWorld.. As much as you all would like to no its not down to this forum to take action as the trade was made through another forum, who the admin is aware and they will deal with the issue themselves....
Let this be a thread that shows all members how not to post or treat fish.... Personally i have never posted a fish and never will...the good old fashioned way of delivering or getting them picked up is the safest way in my eyes......
Just a warning aswell, i do watch every topic on here and every trade thread so please take care when posting and trading....

| Irresponsiblity and ingnorance is a very dangerous combination.
P. S. This is the very first Website (world-wide), where owner takes things in his/her own hands for the sake of our fishes. Thank you Curby! I will certainly recommend this thread to Hungarian site owners.
