| Sorry if this has been asked.
How many fry can a Bristlenose have in a batch? Are the numbers similar for albino BN? My ABN male just released his fry and I counted close to 100. This could be two batches of eggs as my males seems to be in his cave all the time. I do hope he takes a break soon,or I will be removing his cave or his wives or maybe him. Also of note I noticed one normal colored fry(not albino),but couldn't catch it.

| Hi,it depends on the age of the fish and a few other factors but the average I would say is 50 ish but this can vary with age and size.It is possible he had 2 batches it does happen. He will not take a break on his own he will need to be separated from the females so he can have a break. Why did you need to catch the coloured fry?
Don't remove his cave that will just stress him out,you need to seperate them but he still needs his cave.

| I have 1f and 1m, both are small(too small I thought) ABN (2 1/2"m... 3"f). They just produced over 80 fry their first try.
I had a common pair that were much larger and they produced ~50 each time.

| I have recently had a spawn with a Super Red and an Albino Longfin, and they produced between 100 and 150 fry, possibly more but very difficult to count. The only way to make a count is to take a photo, but even then they are not all vissible. | |

| I wanted to catch the normal colored fry because it is unique and I am not feeding much in the main tank and I want it to get enough food. All my other BN are albinos. Saw it again today so maybe will get it. | |

| Hi there,
Our female is about 3 years old and male about 2 years old and we have just had a clutch of 200 give or take 10.
We know this as we supply a local fish shop so have to count everyone and the ones we sell to other.
