| are we talking gallons or litres?
If you are talking gallons then i have no idea. If you are talking litres then i would go online. is it for display or breeding?

| talk to a glasier, they can generally knock something up for you for cheap. just be sure to use 10mm, or even 12mm glass. | |

| What actual size tank are you thinking of? Length, Width and Height. Your best bet is probably online on a local classifieds website. | |

| i want a brand new tank. no scratches. no holes i have to worry about.
this is going to be my show tank. i have 6 discus i want to put in the tank. with a lot of fake plants and a big piece of tree root. about 4 albino pleco and 4 brown pleco. some angel fish.
i want a tank about 150 gallons i guess. based on my current 60 gal tank and the space in my house i have for the tank. this will be perfect.
so 48x30x25 would be good size. this is in inches

| There is a guy on my local forum that has a 150 with everything for $500 obo. Pretty good deal
Don't know how far you are from Reno but if you are interested I'll send you his contact info
Otherwise, One of the big Catfish forums has an article (sorry can't remember which one) on making your own tanks. He personally has made over 300 tanks. Great article with lots of excellent step by step pics
If I can find it, I'll send it to you

| I know quite a few people who have found great deals on large tanks on CL
BUT, one thing I would do for peace of mind, is to reseal any used tank before filling with water. whether you think it leaks or not.
Also, before buying a used tank look for chips. Little ones are not always a huge deal as long as it is not close to the seal.
A friend of mine got a great deal on a 210 but while filling it. He heard this awful gushing noise due to the fact he didn't notice a huge chip and it started spraying. He learned his lesson.
My 55 community tank is 27 years old. When I moved from Ma to Nv I resealed any tank I had prior to setting up. Just for peace of mind. Really easy to do. Just remember to "push" the bead.
Scratches can be buffed out of glass but I would pass on any plexi tank that was heavily scratched.
Unfortunatly, due to hard times and high foreclosure rates many people are sellling many things at great prices.
New is nice but getting a great deal is even better. (I got beautiful chrome rims for my 65 Mustang for $30!)
I would definetly check for used tanks before paying a premium price on a new one. If you are patient, you will find what you are looking for
