| what else is in the tank?
the L147 is highly unlikely to be the parent as they are not even closely related to the ancistrus, their exact placement is unknown but some people think the belong with the whiptails etc.

| Hi thanks so much for replying, well I'm afraid I've got a few preditors
1 female bristle 1 male bristle 1 black knife ghost fish 2 bumble bee catfish 1 acanthadorus catfish 2 cory's 1 driftwood catfish 2 thick lipped gaurmi's 1 l147 big spotted plec And 7 fry,
Yes I presume it's the female bristle but they have the same stripes as the l147 that's y I think it might be a parent all 3 the male bristle chased the l147 in2 the cave and they didn't come out for a about a week or so, but the female bristlenose dissapered and then all 3 started to emerge from the cave when the fry started to come out, but now there all out the female bristlenose is chasing the male and he doesn't seem interested, I think it's the stripes that are confusing me, the bristle nose fry that I have seen don't have these colour stripes.

| how sure are you that the L147 is a female? maybe its stealing the caves from the male bns... surest way to know when they have bred is females will go from this: to this: i hope im wrong but my guess would be the female bn is the culprit these pictures are not my own and were taken from a google search | |
