DIY Aquarium

I mentioned this in my intro thread and thought I would put up a couple of pics of it. 'It' is a 1200x1200x500mm aquarium I just made . 720L of South American 'god'ness

Me too!!! Still not sure what the stocking will be... always wanted an SA Arowana (asinas are crap IMO) maybe some Peacock bass (had some before and love them though my parents killed them when I was away for a week). Possibly big enough for some motoro rays as well... one day.

Hmmm yea you could breed motoro rays in it. Good money in that

cool, I wasn't sure it would be big enough for them. I might try and get a pair of them then and have a go at breeding. When my parents find out, I will put the blame on you hahaha

Well I told my parents that I wanted to try and breed the rays and they just laughed at me and told me they are way too expensive and to get something else.

It ain't there decision though so I will be going ahead with it.

you: Nope, but here is a few thousand dollars i made from breeding them to go to bali for a week on me!

hahaha I would never give them money . I would just spend it on things that would annoy and disappoint them more

You could always put your aquarium building skills to good use and build custom aquariums for other people... I'm sure there's some money to be made there

maybe... I would just have to find a supplier for the glass so I can get the costs down. I could cut it myself but don't know where I could find the sheets of glass, any ideas (not second hand)? This one was $230 for the glass (two panes are from an older cracked 4 ft). I think I am a few big tanks off a professional product though. I don't think there would be much money in it unless one could find a cheap glass supply.

But seriously, it was one of the easiest things I have ever made.

Taking orders if anyone wants one . Not so much for profit as experience.

Thats one sweet tank, I wish I had one that size for a grow out tank!
