I have two BN's. One is lovely and black&white but the other is grey and indistinct in his patterning. Is he ok? He acts fine. Am I just being daft? There's a shot of the 2 of them at around a minute into the vid.

The darker one is the dominant one.

There will always be this issue among BNs. Providing there is plenty of room for the weaker one to hide and swim away and enough food it's not a problem.
