| It's good to hear that you were refunded, what price was he asking for them ? Hopefully it was a case of him not knowing and not just a con. Commons are great fish in their own right Many types of BN fry have a white seam to the dorsal and tail but only a few. like the L183, keep it to adulthood, young L181's can often be mistaken for L183's as they have white edging to the fins but they are a species that lose it. | |

| At the lfs where I work we ordered Gold Nuggets and were shipped 2 small plecs black with medium sized spots that are rather close together(not snowball sized or tiny starlight like) and no true seams but looks like the remainder of a seam on the caudal like a BN would have. Haven't had much of a chance to really examine them but I sure don't think they warranted the Gold Nugget price tag we paid for them. If I can determine they are Bn's I'm going to trade out some of my fish for them so the store can at least recoup the money they paid for them and I'll have something new to breed as my ABN babies are selling rather well there. Will try and post a pic when I get a chance.
btw, didn't mean to hijack. I agree your fish is also a common. I learn something new about these plecs everyday and it's been invaulable to me to have found this site. While I think it's possible our supplier knew what he was sending us... but don't think many store employees know the difference between many of the smaller plecs and your fish being mislabled could have likely been an honest mistake. I think it was very gracious of them to admit it and give you the fish. | |
