| Subject: What to breed to make marbled or calico Longfin BN Sun Jun 24, 2012 9:34 am | |
| I'm trying to figure out what I have to breed to create marble and calico Longfin BN. I realize that I can buy these but I want to try and breed these myself. I have breed normals and got experience with that. I currently have 1 Albino Longfin Male BN. 1 Common Male SF BN. 2 Common SF Females BN. Also about 70 or so of fry. If my Albino LF breeds with Common SF what would I get. I'm assuming they have no Albino in the Female Common and no LF genes. | |

| not sure if you have red this but it is a good start http://www.bristlenoseworld.com/t2500-crosses-interbreeding-bristlenose-updated Unfortunately, you need to have a calico in there already to get calico offspring. cross a calico with a calico or cross a calico with an albino | |

Thanks very interesting. But how do you get a marbled. I seen some almost orange with like calico patches. How would you get that type.

| marbled = calico
there is a lot of variation in colour within this group, some being almost black and others being completely orange. its just a matter of breeding.
