| some. Plecos come from right across the amazonian basin, black water comes from part of that basin. some plecos love it, others wont. Bristlenose are generalists who can tolerate it. remember that a true black water tank has a pH of less than 5 and lots of tannins in the water, it is also very very soft. | |

| depends on the type of pleco. Most plecos respond to a drop in pH and temp. are we talking about bristlenose? | |

| unless you like the way it looks, i wouldnt bother turning your water tea coloured. personally i like it but then again i like the plain old sand, wood and caves for my plecs | |

| i have tryed the sand and the gravel but i have better luck with a bare btm tank for my BN . i never tryed the darker water before | |
