| Hey BNW! I just thought I would Share some photo's I have of my latest additions... Thanks Kfenk The group is in my standard 4ft (200l) tank with fluval 305 and two sponge filters for filtration and two large bits of driftwood, slate caves and gravel. Spawning was as simple as bringing them home and doing a 25% wc on that weekend. And there has been three spawns since bringing them home, of which the first spawn (a pic below shows the size of about 2cm now 5 weeks on) Enjoy the group of 6 marbles moving tanks. Females A fry (2cm) | |

| Nice going mate, congrats on all the fry. I had taken the caves away from the male over a month before you purchased them for me, so the girls would have been bursting with eggs lol. Poor male would have had just enough time to settle before the girls ambushed him lol | |

| Yeah all 4 females were extremely gravid when I got them from you... From the way the male only looked after them everyone and again for the first batch he probably hadn't settled in yet The smallest one looks like its another female so I will be on the look out for another male to keep the ratio right. | |

| i keep 3 females with all my males and one of them has 4 girl friends as long as you make sure he gets a rest between the spawns he will be fine, i have been doing this for 2 yrs now and most of my spawns have very few bad eggs | |

| Ah true! I was testing out the ratio of 3 or 4 f to a male and it seemed to go really nicely in my common colony before I sold some trios. The females seemed to breeding in sync doing double spawns nearly each time with the 3 males I had and they all kept good weight and I even got to witness co-parenting from two of the males... (the dominant male had a spawn leave his cave, presumably got bored and took over the sub-dominant cave) I thought for sure that he would have eaten them but amazingly it all went smoothly...
Anyway, the marble girls are rather small so I'm sure this guy will keep up until I find some more blood lines. | |

| Yea its a good idea to keep a eye on how your male eats when he is between spawns, if he doesn`t eat really good then he will go down hill fast and lose alot of weight. i had a group in a tank down near the floor and i didn`t get down on my knees to check him for a couple of months and when i did check him he was skinny as all get out come to find out one of the big females was keeping him run off from the food. | |
