Since garlic is regarded as good for fish, or at least not harmful, I was wondering if there's any research on the possible benefit or drawbacks to feeding onions, and if they would even eat them (and knowing greedy BN they probably would). Same family as garlic, many of the same active ingredients.

Anyone ever tried it? Onions anyone? 3235774899

I'm not willing to experiment on my own guys Embarassed

Hi Sarah,i don't know for sure but surely there can't be anything good for them in onions and also onions release enzymes when cut.I wouldn't risk putting onion into my tank and would be worried that it may actualy harm them more than do anything good. This is just my opinion,i would stay well away from them.

Hi, yes, I think you may be right. Looking over this thread it seemed like someone had tried pretty much every veg out there, but nobody mentioned onions. Anything that makes people cry Sad and kills dogs I'm too chicken to risk also!

Thanks for the input,
Sarah
