| Here is my future potential pair sucking opposite parts of the driftwood log. This pic really emphasizes their current size difference. Still doesn't seem like they are interested in each other but she is still pretty small. I think I'll add a proper cave later this week. I have a coconut half and that piece of driftwood is cave like... As our can see my giant ram snails! | |

| Hi,she looks tiny at the side of him,she may need to grow quite a bit before she is ready.Although that wood looks cave like it doesn't look the right dimensions for them to breed in.It looks too wide open and not deep enough.Although some will use half coconuts a lot will not.You could maybe buy a clay cave or two off the internet of the correct dimensions i am sure he will love you for it. | Thanks for the reply, I am so anxious for the little one to keep growing! My friend actually cuts rocks and makes caves out of them for fish breeding. What dimensions do you recommend? I was also thinking of adding the ol terra cotta halved siliconed to glass just for good measure. | |

| You need them to be about 5 inches deep and 1 and a half inches diameter but you need to know the size of the male to enable you to get the correct size for him.He may need one slightly bigger. It is hard to tell by the photo's.Do you know his length and approx width.Don't take him out just have a look and judge it. Be very careful using rock for bristlenose caves as they can be sharp. They need a smooth surface to stick the eggs to also. Bristlenoses | |

| It is sealed at one end. I got the idea off the DIY forum the glass is 7"x4" the pot is 7" long, 3" at the widest point and the opening is 1.5" wide by 3/4" tall. | |

| Finally added the cave to the tank! And the tank after I rearranged the plants and everything. Tank could use a background, still happy though! I really hope he takes to it. So far he's still been on his wood and in the coconut cave. | |

| After all that hard work he is spending a lot of time in the coconut cave! That cave has been in there months without him being all that Intetested in it. He also isn't spending time on his usual hiding place in the driftwood. | |

| I saw him in the terra cotta cave yesterday and he didn't come out for the green beans, I am optimistically suspicious but trying not to disturb him. | |

| GOod job making the terracotta cave! Particularly like the way you have it buried in the substrate.

| Thanks I am going to say no eggs at this point. I would have noticed wigglers by now. The male still hangs in the cave tons and is actually more confident when exploring the rest of the tank. I see him so much more now as his head is always sticking out! | |
