| My big albino sf females, my small albino sf female, and my super fat brown female all spawned with my albino LF male last night!! There has to be atleast 200-250 eggs in the males tube!! Huge spawn, and happy to finally figure out for sure that my brown female was just gravid! She has shrunk back down to a normal size, after being super fat for months, and having me looking for answers to what it could have been. I put the brown female into a separate tank with a mature, inexperienced male for a week, and nothing happened. So I put her back into my big tank with my big albino trio, and young albino female, and last night when I was watching them, the Dom female entered his tube fat with eggs, and after a half hour or so, she came out with a sunken belly. Soon after the smaller female of the trio went in and same thing. Now those three always spawn at the same time, and I thought that my young albino female was too young to spawn, but out of now where, she pushed her way into the males cave, and she came out with a sunken belly and no where near as wide as she was when she went in!! Then later in the night, as I was walking by the tank, I glanced in and just caught my brown female just coming out of the males tube, and she looks like a completely different fish with the marble gone from her belly! So I am super stoked, and actually surprised the male let two new females into his cave to spawn with the orig two females, in the same night!! At all really!! So to everyone who has been trying to figure out what was up with the brown female, we got our answer, even though a lot of us thought she was gravid! Thanks for the advice guys, and will put up some pics when I can get some, without disturbing the male!!!!! | |
