reds had their first spawn

well after a week of wriggle, waggle, and a shake they actually had their first batch. not many, has they are small them selves ,, male 3in. female 2.5 and one 8th..

thanks chaps. still all present and counted for, for first time he's doing really well. comes out though but to clean up around the door way. then has a mooch and back he goes. .. here's a pic, not many eggs but a start

2ft breedin tank with a fluval 4 plus and a jad sponge filter. changing 4plus with a low flow external filter.. i also have a few alders cones in there to tint the water a bit, caves, bogwood , and a sand substrate.

started off by buying another pair of supers , male 3in female 2,5. and after a couple of days i noticed the female getting chubby around the sides. so decided to lower water temp a bit, and male started using some small caves i made and a l46 breeding tube,
low and behold female laid one week 4 days later....
