Ready to get my cherry popped!

Hey everyone, I'm Scott aka Pleco Whisperer, I'm 22 and I live in Taunton, Somerset, UK.

I am on day 10 of cycling my tank, This is also my first time, so I am a tank and pleco virgin!

I have been looking at so many fish, and instantly I love the look of bristlenose pleco's, so I am thinking of getting one or two of these, I would like two when they are very young and small so i can watch them grow, but I want one male and one female and I know you can't tell the sex of them till they are older, so I may have to buy them bigger. Can anyone tell me roughly what age they are so you can tell what sex they are ?

If I don't get 2 BN's then I was thinking of getting just one with a red whiptail pleco. Either way I want to get a school of about 12 cardinal tetras to go with them. I have a 100l tank.

Usually from 5-6cm you will be able to see the small whiskas from the males lip

welcome glad to have you if you want M/F pair you will have to get them older if you were closer to me i could fix you up

Hi and welcome to Bristlenose World  You could always get a few and grow them up then keep a male and female and sell the rest.It isn't a good idea to buy siblings if you intend to breed so try and get your fish from different sources.
