Hi All
I have a new 2 inch long male BN (Boris!
) and he is my first venture into these delightful beasties. He seems to be doing very well and is doing a marvelous job of clearing the algae in my tank. I realise that I will soon have to start feeding him 'full time' as almost all the algae has now gone.
I have tried offering blanched courgette and blanched cucumber so far, both of which he ignored (although my Botia striatas loved it!) and Hikari plec wafers which, until last night, he also ignored. The veggies have been left in over night with light off and removed the following morning.
My question is HOW MUCH should I be offering him when I am having to feed him completely? Should I be offering a plec wafer a day, or fewer, or more along with blanched veggies every couple of days? I guess at 2 inches he has some growing to go as well.
It is easy to tell if you are overfeeding (although I have a tank full of barbs that will hoover up limitless amounts of food until they explode if given the opportunity) but I am worried I won't give Boris enough - he seems to consume vast amounts of algae a day at the moment!
Thanks
