| Yes i have!!
Apart from the peppermints looking way better (i think) nothing is really different. They eat the same. I have found mine to be a little shyer than the rest of my BNs though. | |

| Bro, i got a breeding pair for $250 (male & female) i recon what you do is don't get 2 males but instead get 2 females. The reason being BNs can be fairly territorial and will fight with each other (the males do anyway). Try 2 females 1 male that way the male will take his pick and no one will get nasty towards each other Hope this helps. | |

| High paulicans, as mattmania has mentioned - to easy to keep together they pretty much have the same habits. $500 for a trio is a bit rich - $400 for 3 guaranteed breeders is a bit more on the money, but then you'd still want the trio to consist of 1 male and 2 females. J

| woahhh thats wayyyy too much! check out www.petlink.com.au my girfriend got a breeding pair of peppermints off there (1 male 1 female) for 200 bucks. they are really good size too the male is about 16cm long. I keep peppermint fry in a tank with my common bristlenose fry and they have never had a problem with eachother. havent tried adults though but i dont imagine it would be a problem if you give them enough room. hope some of this helps. | |

| Oh yeah I should have added - $400 for a trio is retail price out of a shop, you could quite easily get them cheaper through a private sale. J | |

| these can be add for alot cheaper via private sellers in the uk.... anything from £20-£25 each I would say normally at LFS, I have a good contact who lets me have them cheaper, but it costs me in petrol... so If any one in Uk needs some let me know... I dont mind dropping some off for you in south yorkshire if you help towards fuel.. I could also pick them up and you can collect from me...(Pic Up in south yorkshire right now) though if you want me to do this you would have to pay me a deposit by paypal to cover my petrol and outlay.... sure if your serious about your fish then you would at least meet costs of me running about for you... | |

| yeah, in the UK you can get all sorts for cheep as chips.
$500 for a trio (even 1M 2F) is way too expensive, even for perth!! I bought my two breeding males for $160 (thought they were a breeding pair, but alas, still looking for a breeding female).
In terms of keeping them together, yes, easily! only thing to watch for is the number of males in the tank. Male peppermints get bigger and stronger then the commons and are a touch more agressive. In a fight the peppermint could easilly mortally wound the common so make sure they all have plenty of space and I would def stick to the 1 male per 1.5 square foot of tank bottom rule!
