Discus originate from of South America. Almost all discus found in the aquatic trade now are captive bred. Discus are a popular choice for experienced aquarist, and shouldn’t be kept unless you have experience as they are a delicate fish to keep and are sensitive to adverse water conditions, that being said they are a beautiful and graceful fish that can be bred in the home aquarium. Discus will school naturally, but can become aggressive when spawning
Discus are naturaly carnivorous and enjoy blood worm, brine shrimp and purpose made discus food containing beef heart, they can also be fed dried foods made specifically for discus like flake and pellet food
