| Yesterday as I was driving home i was thinking about whatever i would do if my fish died and how sad I would be if bristles died.... a bad omen.. as i arrived home to check on my favirote fish, Bristles and my other fish. I firstly noticed that my shyest fish, minnie, a peppermint bristlenose who usually isnt out was in Bristles "man cave" Then I noticed Bristles had all his fins out and was sitting weirdly in a plant, i thought it was kinda cute but weird, then i looked at him from the front and had noticed his eyes were white.. I then new something was wrong, i moved the plant and he floated.. To say the least i was very upset and in shock. The heater had exploded and electric shocked him.. Killing Bristles and 3 of my neon tertras.. They probably never new it happened i hope... My girlfriend came over and we took him out and the tetras. 6 of the tertras survived and my other two bristlenoses also survived. My girlfriend became very upset when we decided he would like some food with him. We wrapped him up with lots of zucchini and algae wafers as he was notorious for devouring them as soon as they landed in the tank. He was buried under a tree as he loved to sit on the log all day. It's still sad even today to look at the spot he would love and always sit in, because it's empty and he isn't there.. I cared for him so much and did all the research and everything to make sure that they would all live happy lives. At the end of the day it was a freak accident. But not any less upsetting. It's never easy losing your favorite fish and your first R.I.P Bristles. Wherever you are now I hope there is a nice log and heaps of zucchini for you. You shall be missed dearly. | |
