| So I picked up this girl today - debate on common brown or marble/calico? I reckon the photo is pretty true to her actual colour... which is a lot less orange than my marble boys! More of a Yellowy than an Orangy. I would think she is more likely to be common - except for on the front fins when looking at this photo - it has that tinge of orange/pink colour. The other thing is - looks like bruising or something to her underside? Anyone able to shed any light on this please? Thanks for checking it out and hopefully giving me some answers! | |

| The top looks like a common, the bottom looks like a mess I'd go with a common | |

| Yep, as I thought... i agree common Brown. I was told she was being picked on by peppermints in the same tank. There were also angel fish and possibly some others in quite a small tank. Seeing an unwanted bn being in what looks like bruised condition I chose to buy her even tho I didn't believe her to be marble as she was advertised. He obviously didn't have much care for her as there were other tanks he could have put her in. Just hate seeing people buy fish and not look after them. Anyway, I won't say a name because I know the law. .. But I will say please don't buy any from a kid who is about 16ish years old and lives on Gabriella Victoria Avenue in Woodcroft.
Maybe we should have an area titled 'Support or Steer clear' for each country so we can help support our locals or warn others of people/businesses not looking after animals or customers.

| Yours is a bit tricky.
With mine, my commons always have white tipping to their fins and tails. My calicos have red or orange tipping.
I guess not all strains have this tipping? This girl seems to have yellowish tips. It does look more like a common to me than a calico. The genetics and expressions of these fish are so varied you always come across those specimens that make you say, hhmm.
Either way she is a nice BN who is very lucky to have you taking care of her!
