It looks like you have a great eye for rescaping tanks as well Alasse, Nice job.
Maingano- that's the little blue and black stripped african cichlid- correct?

Update:
The piece of wood is finally settling down with releasing tannins. Only slight tinge now, so shouldn't be long before it stops altogether.

I've finally got around to putting a black background on the tank, i think it looks far better.
