| For us, we use a re-shaped metal kebab skewer and hang it from the top of the tank. Others use screwcumbers, or cutlery, lead, anything to weigh it down. There is no preparation with cucumber, just cut of a chunk and add to tank, the bristlies will do the rest LOL
Just watch for it going soft as it is the quickest to turn and polute your tank.

| I use screwcumbers, but like Angie said do not leave it in too long I tend to add in late pm / early eve and remove next morning, that is if anything is left | |

| Use Zuchinni instead rinoh, it will hold up better in your tank, as mentioned cuccumber quickly turns to mush as it is all ready about 90% water, look at the difference between Zuchinni and cuccumber and you'll see what I mean. J | |

Complete opposite with me, zucch turns to mush, goes everywhere and stuff within a day or two, whilst cucumber holds up lovely for a few days (by the end of which it's usually all gone lol!) Personally, I just cut a chunk and sandwich it inbetween a screwable winestopper lol

| I peal the skin off then hold it under hot water for a few seconds, then add to fork/skewer/spoon handle/screwcumber/ceramic weight/whatever and sink it. I give them about 1/8 every other day and its gone by morning. If I feed it every day they tend to get bored and let it go to mush.
I only hold it under warm water to soften the outer edges sp the clown loach babies and corydoras can get a bit before the lights go out and the ABN sniff it out. Normally it never gets to the bottom before a fish is attached.

| I would feed Courgette before cucumber due to the fact cucumber breaks down to quick and turns the tank misty...
And alls i do is cut the courgette into a four inch peice then slice it down the middle and stick an heavy fork into it so it doesnt float... make sure the white side is facing up although they will graze on the green.....
And leave it in no longer than 24hrs....i put mine it at 7pm and take it out at 8am ish....
And just a simple wash under normal water does no harm ......

| I slice cucumber down the middle, push a stainless steel spoon through it, put it into the tank and take the spoon out next day.
The adults love it.
