| Well, after a frustrating week with lots of water changes, starting to use filtered water to try and drop the ph a bit and not quite being sure about the health of my male, I came down this morning to find him sitting on a big pile of eggs After the last batch were decimated by my tetras and danios raiding the log, he is now housed safely in a seperate tank. Fingers crossed all will go well and I'll be albe to post some pics of my wrigglers Cheers Mic | |

| Better still, I hadn't seen my LF ABN male for a couple of days - seems he's been holed up deep in his log fanning. Fingers crossed for this one too :bounce: | |

| It seems my wishfull thinking combined with my LF's vigorous fanning had me seeing eggs that weren't there There are a couple of bumps in his log that looked like a small egg cluster. On a brighter note, my other male has settled into his new tub nicely and is doing a bang up job of looking after his new eggs | |

| Almost two weeks to the day since the eggs were laid Daddy let the kids out to fend for themselves. I have no idea how many there are as they wont sit still long enough to count them! Ballpark figure is sh#*loads Here is a couple on the side of the tub Thanks again to all who gave me advice and best wishes through my stressful intro to BN breeding | |

| Now comes the fun part, trying to find somewhere to put the "ballpark" figure of fish and then a month later you'll need to find space for another "ballpark" figure of fish and then a another month later- well you get the idea. J | |

| Came home today to find a few dead fry in the tub. I lifted the driftwood to scoop them out and the majority of little ones were rotting under the timber. A few must have died and polluted the water. The water flow had pushed all the bodies under the timber so when i had been doing water changes I hadnt seen them. Devastated! I have gathered all the remaining fry (about 40 or so) and slowly acclimatised them to the big tank then set them free. A few didnt make it but I figured they would have a grater chance at survival in the stable tank until I figure out what happened. Havent had a chance to test water yet but its a bare bottom tub with a big established air/sponge filter plus an ehiem pickup running in it, temp was 22 and food was only cucumber that was changed every two days before it got too manky. Any suggestions as to what caused the sudden deaths?

| I'd guess you all ready know the reason, as few fish died they started to rot and then a few more died and the environment got even more rotten- good idea to move them to a more stable environment, there's probably a little bit more food on offer too. J | |
