L121: this L number is a further example of the presence of almost identical looking catfish in widely separated locations.
L121 from"Guyana" has now been i.D as Peckoltia Braueri and this species was also described from there.
L135 looks identical but comes from the Rio Negro. In addition L305 which has been caught only up to 6cm length "may" be identical
with L121,the latter however,is known from 15cm individuals. Now this what they have to say about the L135 - Quote :
- This catfish which is found in the Rio Negro drainage, cannot be distinguished by the naked eye from L121, Peckoltia braurei
from "Guyana"and is another example of an identical looking catfish from widely spread locations in South America At least you have a vague idea what your fish is hopkins 182:- Peckoltia braueri would be a safe bet, your first pix pretty neat to  J | |

| L121 and L135 seem to be the same fish L135 as only got 7 soft rays Peckoltia braueri as 8 how many soft rays as she got ????? | |
