| Thinking about getting one of these for the 36 gallon. Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Fluval 305
I do know that this one is for tanks up to 70 gallons. Good flow and happy fish!!

| Fluval 305-how many gallons does it turn over in a hour? Ideally your cannister filter should be turning the tank over a minnimum 4-5 times an hour, so if it does 280-350 gallons p/hr you should be ok. I've got a no name cannister which the sticker says 1000ltr p/hr turning over a tank with 250-300 ltr , so there is the 4X cycle which seems to be working allright. J | |

J It turns 260 gallons per hour..roughly 950 liters.

THANKS!! Looking into them now. Much cheaper than the Fluval. Is changing the media messy? The Fluval boasts that media change is a snap.

| The worst thing about Fluval is the corrugated tubes - you get brown algae growing over the ridges once the filter is established (I assume they still come with these). You end having to clean the tubes out every time you stop the filter once it matures or you end with a tank full of goo. I thought Eheim were more expensive than Fluval ? | |

| Fluval 305 $170.00
Eheim Classic 2215/UT 92g $120.00
Eheim Ecco Canister 2234 $150.00
I only have a 36 gallon tank.

| I've done the research and have decided to get the Aheim Classic 2215.
Would it benefit me to get a spray bar? I do have a 3 inch bubble disk in there.
