| OK I know I promised to post this a while back, but better late than never lol Our fish room is in our flat, which is on the 1st floor, and fortunately has a concrete floor. The first thing we did was under advise, was get the water supply and drainage in. Fortunately our fishroom is next to the bathroom, so a few knocks under the bath and we were able to access water and drainage. We only have a pipe fitted for drainage, and an outside tap for cold water. We managed to get some cheap gloss paint from the 99p shop, which of course saved money. Although light green isn't my first choice the funds made it acceptable LOL A lot of our wood for the frames came from a loft conversion around the corner from us. We did ask permission and were told to take what we wanted. So once again, we saved a lot of money there too. and Shows Wayne making a start on the frames. We had a pair of metal stackable 4 foot tanks we had bought and they were a nightmare to slot into the space we had disignated to them This shows the racking for the 2 foot tanks, we put them side ways on so we could get more into the space we had. Shows the air ring we put in. We decided to put in extra air access just in case, and it was a good job we did as it really has come in handy at times. and and and and all show different views of the room before we inhabited it with fish. The hardest part was not to fill all the tanks with fish as that would leave us without hospital and quarantine tanks as you can't always plan ahead for all outcomes. Angi | |

| Cheers Deano
There is no way we can have a shed to convert as we don't have a garden, or a garage, so the utility room got sacrificed LOL

| Seeing this room just gave me an idea. Now I think I may have a job for wayne in my first fish room...lol... always wanted to know how to set a decent air ring up...lol... and a decent size shed on a concrete base or on railway beams may help : and i think i may need a bigger space since i am liking more space....lol.. a lovely DIY job though and you both should be commended | |

| out of interest what are you using to supply the air?
I use a large piston style aquarium pump and can run about 6 tanks easily off it. Has anyone bit the bullet and bought an compressor? I used one for a while at uni when i had about 17 tanks going and it was awesome, bit loud but awesome!

We use a couple of thesehttp://www.hailea.com/E-hailea/product3/ACO-108.htm We use 2 smaller sized ones, as the thinking is if one fails, we still have the other to rely on whilst a replacement is found. I can't tell ya the exact size we use as Wayne is in't pub LOL But we did get more than we thought we needed just in case, and to be honest it was a good job we did lol If you bide your time, you can get them at a decent price on ebay. Yes, they can be noisy, but we don't really notice ours and they are indoors All you need to do is secure the feet, ours are on a shelf above the door to connect into the air ring
