New Super red and L144

Im dead excited (doesn't take much)

I got delivery of a female L144 and a super red this morning. First time i've had fish delivered by courier, was a bit worried about doing it before.
Luckily they are all well and eating loads in my tank
Cant wait to finish work and see them

Would LOVE to get some super reds they are just so dang expensive.

I've never priced them here. Whats they going for in the US? And in the UK?

A group of 6 at 1 to 1.5 inches goes from $200 to $270 and $55 for a single 1.5 inch fish so unless i win the lottery I'm not buying them yet but I hope to soon.

Lol...we all should get together and write a book on budget fishkeeping! I've never really heard of a wealthy person to take care of their own fish. I'm sure they are out there..but I've never heard of one.

I think you're better off where you live Id swap anyday (you can have my super red too lol)

Hopefully will breed them one day, needs to grow a bit first so I can see what ive got (M/F)

My super red has gone missing I haven't seen it for 2 days

Gonna start turning over structures in your tank?

How big is it? Try looking in your filter. I had one of my newly purchased L-144 go missing. It was still in the quarantine tank and since there was absolutely no sign of it, the only explanation I could think of was that it had died and been eaten. A week later he was discovered in the filter during regular tank maintenance. Since this can happen on occasion it's worth a look.

Its only about an inch and half. I cant think how to ever get it out of my filter (if its in there) because its an internal jewel one. Ive found dead fish in there before when ive pulled the media up, and often wondered if they are dead because ive pulled them up or whether they were dead already because they've become trapped

Im going to have a really good look tonight and take the plants and turn everything upside down.

Im hoping I get home in an hour and its eating away on the glass but im not holding my breath. It was bought as a birthday present for me and its not even my birthday until Friday lol id be gutted if I cant find it

are there any uncovered air lines coming out of the tank? I lost a little 2 inch common that way, it followed the air line right out of the tank and I found him behind the tank all dried up:(

I can't believe it I found the little git. It was hiding in the tinyest little cut out in the 3d backing where it meets the filter outflow. Couldn't have been stuck because as soon as I got him out he's gone straight back there.

that's so sad I never would even think it could do that

I was sad it was kinda like what happened to you, couldn't find him for a couple days stripped down the tank couldn't find him then i read somewhere about the air lines, looked behind the tank and there he was. Always have a lid with the smallest openings for filters possible, real crappy leason to learn.
