My wife and I went to her parents house in Harlan, Kentucky this past weekend. They have a creek running behind their house that empties from a lake in the mountains. I always knew it had a lot of fish in it but this was the first time I actually took the time to fish it. In the space of 20 minutes I caught 6 different species of fish. The temperature was in the low 80s but it was
very humid.

6. Brown Trout - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_trout
There really wasn't a lot of "size" to the fish I caught but I was pleasantly surprised at the diversity in such a small creek. It was roughly 15 to 20 feet wide and about 4-5 foot deep and flowing at about 5mph.
When it got dark we switched bait and poles to fish for Channel Cat - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_cat
Here are a couple of pics. My wife caught the biggest one. We didn't catfish very long because we were getting eat up by mosquitos. These catfish are very small compared to what is in the creek. 15 to 20 lbs is very common. Becky's was prolly around 2-3 lbs and mine was between 1 and 2lbs. Great fighting fish.

Me - The fish is bleeding but they are very fleshy. Was just hooked in the lip, not in the gills.
Yes I am wearing a latex glove. It was for putting the bait on the hook. Rotten chicken liver mixed with garlic. Twas very nasty but fantastic for catching catfish!
