| Yes females can have bristles....look at this pic with 2 females, one has none and the other has them just around her lip.. Females will NEVER grow bristles up there nose.(just around the lip or none atol.)...... Any type of sharks will be aggresive towards your bristlenose as they are very territorial like a bristlenose..so id say a big no no for spawning.. Read this for breeding tips if you follow it you wont go far wrong.... http://www.bristlenoseworld.com/the-breeding-cave-f8/breeding-the-bristlenose-pleco-t1320.htm Hope this helps... p.s you may like to post here first before posting... http://www.bristlenoseworld.com/new-members-f1/ | |

| Man i need to finish my article!
Bn mature at a bout 6cms in length but that said some can when they are smaller, other when they are larger. a more accurate way is age. when they are about 10 months they will be ready to go.
Breeding setups are easy. Tank, water, heater, cave, filter, wood airstone or sponge filter. must be at a minimum 50ltrs (i would suggest 80ltrs for a new breeder just to make it a bit easier for yourself). breeding pair or trio and away you go.
The sticky at the top of this section has all the info you will need, so give it a quick read. anything you are not clear on, im sure we can help you out.

| yeah, 4 out of 4 is unlucky. but that said it may turn out to be good luck as i would bet good money they are all siblings and therefore should not be bred together. sell off two of them to buy a mature female.
I would look at online fourms as that is where breeders like myself get their breeding stock. that way you can make sure that the breeding pair or trio are not related.
Wood is for the bristlenose to munch on as they need some wood in their tank. The airstone or sponge filter is to ensure that there is 100% oxygen saturation in the water. using a sponge filter is best as it also adds to the filtration.
