you gunna have to feed them on algae waffers shrimp pellets a bit to much protien for them

have you got them in a fry tank with fry and bn have loads you gunna have to be doing daily water changes to cope with the extra feeding

forgot to mention the swollen guts is due to incorrect diet as i said feed them on algae waffers and every now and then de shelled peas kinda works as a laxitive

I have to agree with dane, sounds like you are giving them to much protein, algae wafes and veg sticks also frsesh courgette, also once a week frozen bloodworm, tubiflex, i do use brine shrimp but only in small amounts as this can cause bloat in babies but they love the stuff,

do you have bog wood in the tank ? as this helps the plecs digest there food
also do you have any substrate? as this could be the cause of the deaths, as babies tend to stay fixed to the bottom and the slightest bit of rotten food would be enough to kill them,
what are your water parameters? with babys it is important you do daily changes of say 10%

if you could post your parameters i'm sure we can help even more

At what age are the babies when they start dying??

Am sure i read a post with a similar problem a few years back

Could be any number of things

Incorrect diet
Genetic deformity - Are the parents related/unrelated??
Water Quality

Hmmm

High walid, how long r u leaving the little guys with the parent male? Not that is really a problem for me ,
but I have heard that leaving the fry with a parent( for about 2weeks ) can help with digestive issues
therefore making the babies stronger and less prone to Sleep
Cheers J
Also my babies scoff down frozen blood worm .

i wouldnt do 50% water changes once a week with fry in there they are very delicate to change in water conditions..... try doing 10-15% daily or every other day water changes.....

also try feeding them on Courgette (Zucchi) or any other vegetables de-shelled peas is good and lettuce

hi mate you say you do 50% water change when your adding fresh treated water do you have it up to temperature or is it cold, as if it is to cold you could be putting the babies into shock possibly causing there deaths, try and do smaller water changes say 10 - 15% daily or every other day

and i think we will all agree to disagree on the bloodworm but take caution when feeding lol!
