| hi my name is jerry, i have 7 long finned albino bristle nose plecs, 6 starlight bristle nose plecs, and also 4 peppermint bristle nose plecs. i also breed discus and angels, i breed german rams. i am hoping to breed the little long finned plecs. i do a 50% water change on all my 5 tanks every day. the plecs are the dirtest as they never stop crapping. i feed the plecs on algae wafers, courgette and a small amount of blood worm. i live in the nottingham area and have had the experence of looking after and breeding fish since 1978 but it is my first time with plecs. | |

| Hi & Welcome Your pleco list is impressive.. Wow, seriously ..You do 50% wcs daily? thats an awful lot each day...are they small tanks?.. I know the plecs poop a lot,cos I have plecs in all but 1 of my 6 tanks & wouldn't think of doing such big water changes daily, unless I had a tank full of fry.... | |

| hi, they are mainly 3ft fish tanks and all my fish are in tap water and i use aquasafe when i do the water change. i change the water that often to keep my discus happy and growing and i just do the rest of the tanks at the same time | |

| Hey Jerry, Impressive list of fish there I would ease back of the water changes for the bristlensoe breeding tanks for a while...let them get a bit dirty, let the water get a bit old. then hit them with some big WCs. By doing those larger changes everyday they are used to it and are waiting forthe 'cleaner water' from the rains. Check our breeding cave threads for more info See you on the forums | |

| if i am leaving them to get ready for a spawn i might leave it for 10-14 days depending on the fliter/tank size etc. no need to get the poo out, it will build up in one spot and will be easy to get out when you clean it | |
